how to eat keto at a sushi restaurant: Hamachi Kama

Hamachi Kama is grilled yellowtail collar. It’s smoky, crispy, delicately fatty, and coveted by ketonians in the know.  It’s the perfect low carb, moderate protein, and high-fat entree. I often have to ask if they have any because it’s not on the menu.

When I do ask for it, I sometimes feel as if my server is scrutinizing me as to whether I deserve it. I’ve seen my server dash off to the sushi bar where I am pointed out to the chef. Sometimes she returns telling me they are all out. It makes me wonder whether they reserve it for a few specially chosen patrons because each yellowtail only yields just two cuts of hamachi kama.

Or maybe I’m just being a little obsessive?

Anyway, did I mention Hamachi Kama is the most delicious thing you can order at your sushi joint whether you eat keto or not? It’s also a great option if you who don’t do the raw thing.  I order mine with a cucumber salmon cream cheese scallion roll (no rice) or a salmon skin hand roll (no rice) — also great keto-approved options at your local sushi joint.

Never worry about what to eat again

How amazing would it be to feel confident and clear about your eating during the week, on weekends, and even while traveling or during the holidays.
